Overview:

Malvin W. Njuguna is an experienced researcher and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) specialist with over five years of expertise in designing and implementing mixedmethods research frameworks across diverse programs in Kenya, South Sudan, and Dadaab Refugee Camp. With a solid background in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, Malvin has contributed to impactful projects focused on social issues, including sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and youth empowerment.

Core Expertise and Skills:
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Skilled in developing and implementing M&E frameworks, tracking project indicators, and conducting post-distribution monitoring, baseline surveys, and outcome assessments.
  • Quantitative & Qualitative Research: Experienced in designing rigorous research methodologies, data collection, statistical analysis (using tools like SPSS, R), and managing qualitative data through NVivo and Atlas.ti.
  • Survey Design and Data Collection: Proficient in creating and deploying mobile-based data collection tools using ODK and Kobo Collect, with experience in training and supervising field teams to ensure high data quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effective in liaising with project partners, government bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure project alignment and facilitate data-driven insights.
Professional Experience Highlights:
  • Currently serves as a MEAL Technical Assistant for HELP-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe in South Sudan, managing M&E frameworks, community feedback mechanisms, and quality assurance processes.
  • Previously worked as an M&E Officer at Ujamaa Africa, where he supervised M&E activities for programs addressing teen pregnancy, FGM, and WASH, while building capacity for project teams on data collection and reporting.
